Digital technologies allow to integrate the historic appearance of the Tver River Terminal with modern equipment at the newly constructed “Rechnoy” Center

06.05.2026. Digital technologies allow to integrate the historic appearance of the Tver River Terminal with modern equipment at the newly constructed “Rechnoy” Center

Work is underway at the construction site of the “Rechnoy” Cultural and Exhibition Center in Tver, located at the confluence of the Volga and Tvertsa rivers in the heart of the city. The reconstruction of the historic river terminal building is being carried out by the parent company of VIS Group's construction division.

To date, the building's pile foundation and static pile testing has been completed. The Volga Wing's foundation has been concreted, and reinforcement of the first-floor walls has begun. Reinforcement of the rotunda's foundation slab and the Tvertsa Wing is underway. Retaining walls near the shoreline in the adjacent area are also being reinforced, and following archaeological surveys, the excavation pit has been backfilled with 7,000 m3 of soil.

The builders are faced with the challenging task of recreating the historic appearance of the old building while outfitting it with state-of-the-art engineering equipment. This will create a multi-purpose center that will house exhibition and museum spaces, recreational areas, and restaurants. A digital BIM model of the building is being used for this purpose, allowing for detailed development and approval of technical solutions.

“The BIM model allows us to digitally develop all engineering solutions in advance and carefully integrate them into the architecture of the historic building. Thanks to this, we are preserving the building's appearance while creating a modern, technologically advanced space that fully meets modern operational and convenience requirements,” said Vitaly Lopatin, CEO of OOO LirA, the project developer.

The total area of the complex will be approximately 6,400 m2. “Rechnoy” will combine historical heritage and contemporary culture. The project's implementation will boost the development of the urban environment and the tourism industry.
