The wastewater treatment facility complex in Kashira is one of the facilities being built by VIS Group in the Moscow Region as part of the “Environmental Security” national project. The new facility, with a capacity of 20,000 m³ per day, will be able to serve approximately 52,000 people. Its readiness is estimated at 85%. The Moscow Region Governor visited the construction site today.
The total area of the complex is over 73,000 m², comprising three buildings. The bioreactor, administrative building with a laboratory, and mechanical wastewater treatment plant are already operational. Work is currently underway on the internal networks, adjustment of the mechanical sludge dewatering equipment and blowers, the post-treatment and disinfection building, and the wastewater collection chamber.
“The Moscow Region is undergoing a very extensive modernization program of everything related to water treatment and wastewater disposal. As part of the national project, we are currently implementing approximately 30 projects in the Moscow Region, 15 of which are large-scale projects. The program is far-reaching and very comprehensive. Its goal is to build modern facilities that treat wastewater using the most advanced technologies. The distribution networks themselves are also being modernized,” noted Andrey Vorobyov.
The new treatment facilities will replace the existing ones, which are more than 50 years old and over 85% worn out. The equipment being currently installed and the technologies used meet the latest requirements. Monolithic work at the facility is fully completed, network facilities are 95% finished, and 70% of the metal structures have been constructed.
Having assessed the facility's readiness, the governor ordered the technical launch of the treatment facilities this summer and their full commissioning in December 2026.
At the end of 2025, VIS Group completed work on another major facility in the Moscow region – a treatment facility in Solnechnogorsk with a capacity of up to 27,000 m³ per day. The holding is also modernizing water supply networks in Mozhaisk.
