Exactly one year ago, on December 17, 2024, the Vinogradovo-Boltino-Tarasovka highway, known as the Mytishchi Expressway, opened to traffic ahead of schedule. The 16-kilometer highway was built by VIS Group under a concession agreement with the Moscow Region Government. This modern highway with six interchanges connects five highways, serving as a backup for the northeastern section of the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD). It has significantly improved accessibility for over 800,000 residents of the Moscow Region.
To date, 20.5 million trips have been recorded. Traffic flow is monitored using an automated traffic management system (ATMS), which includes video cameras, automatic incident detection, dynamic driver information boards, and weight and dimension monitoring equipment. The system enables 24/7 monitoring of traffic conditions, generates up-to-date information for road users, and optimizes traffic management.
The Traffic Management Center (TMC) monitors traffic flows, coordinates all services, and provides operational management of the situation on the highway. The complex includes a garage for emergency response vehicles and special equipment, as well as a checkpoint.
Additionally, the digital infrastructure of the Mytishchi Chord has been connected to the Safe Region system of the Moscow Region Government. Video analytics help automate violation detection, and law enforcement agencies use the data for rapid response and crime prevention.
Under the terms of the concession agreement, the highway will be operated by Transtoll, VIS Group’s own toll road operator, until 2038.
