VIS Group completed the final release of fingerlings into the Lena River basin this year. It took place in the village of Ulakhan-An, Khangalassky District, Yakutia, and was the final event of the season. The river's fauna was replenished with 241,617 sturgeon fry. The event was attended by Vladimir Sivtsev, Minister of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
This year, VIS Group implemented a large-scale program to replenish the region's aquatic biological resources. In May and June, whitefish and peled fry were released into various water bodies, with the final stage being the release of sturgeon fry. In total, the holding company released approximately 13 million fry this year.
“The release was part of the compensatory measures envisaged by the Lena River bridge construction project and is aimed at replenishing aquatic biological resources on Russia’s longest river. The program is being implemented with the assistance of the federal state budgetary institution Glavrybvod,” noted Artur Tarabukin, a representative of VIS Group.
The Lena Bridge is a complex infrastructure project. Its construction utilizes advanced technologies, many of which have never been used in Russian bridge construction before. The design takes into account the republic's climate and the river's hydrological regime, minimizing the negative environmental impact of construction.
