On June 26, a mural dedicated to Hero of Russia Vladimir Shatov was unveiled in Khabarovsk. The ceremony was attended by Khabarovsk region Governor Dmitry Demeshin, Khabarovsk Mayor Sergei Kravchuk, and the hero's family.
The mural is located on the façade of a residential building on Amursky Boulevard. It is dedicated to Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Shatov, who died in 2004 during a special operation in Ingushetia. His name is also immortalized in Khabarovsk on the Glory Memorial, and a street and schools have been named after him.
VIS Group provided financial support for the initiative, which is part of the nationwide educational project “Murals of Victory.” Project author Yegor Kirchenko stated that this mural is the largest in the Russian Far East: “It will be documented in the Book of Records because the machine gun in it is the longest ever depicted in our country. The mural itself is 38 meters tall, and the machine gun alone is 18 meters.”
