VIS Group begins laying the pile foundation for the “Rechnoy” Center in Tver

12.02.2026. VIS Group begins laying the pile foundation for the “Rechnoy” Center in Tver

Work has begun on preparing the foundation for the “Rechnoy” Cultural and Exhibition Center in Tver. The project is being implemented by VIS Group under a government contract. The building is being constructed on the site of the historic river terminal and will closely replicate its architectural appearance. Pile foundation construction is underway at the site, with 113 of the 464 piles already installed. Prior to their installation, test piles were driven to determine the bearing capacity of the soil. Static load tests were also conducted on the piles.

The design takes into account the mistakes made by the creators of the old building in the 1930s. The new center will be located above the flood level and protected from flood damage. 3,200 m³ of soil have already been poured into the pile foundation. All work is proceeding according to the construction schedule.

Previously, the old river terminal building was dismantled, archaeological research was completed, and construction debris was removed to a specialized landfill. Some of the historic architectural elements were preserved and will be used in the exhibition space of the upcoming cultural and exhibition center.

The new building, with an area of approximately 6,400 m², will become a modern public space with exhibition halls, studios, and museum areas, as well as a landscaped adjacent area at the confluence of the Volga and Tvertsa rivers. The project will not only preserve one of Tver's main landmarks but also create a fundamentally new environment that will attract both local residents and tourists. The revived urban architectural icon will become the center of a large cultural and exhibition cluster.
