The annual SmartLab conference in St. Petersburg was attended by over 2,000 people. Retail investors and analysts, traders, representatives of investment funds, banks, the Moscow Exchange, and issuers discussed the present and future of the Russian capital market. VIS Group held a separate session, where representatives of the holding company discussed its business model, financial results, and development plans.
“We operate in a promising and growing infrastructure market. Public-private partnerships are among its main drivers. Experts predict a fivefold growth in this market by 2040. The accumulated infrastructure investment gap is estimated at 180 trillion rubles. VIS Group, as a recognized leader in the PPP market, expects to be one of the main beneficiaries of this growth. A number of new exciting projects are currently being developed,” noted Dmitry Suvorov, Deputy CEO for Economics and Finance at VIS Group.
According to a PPP market study conducted by TeDo and the National PPP Center, VIS Group's share in the segment of large PPP projects and concessions exceeds 15%. The holding company is among the top three infrastructure companies with a portfolio of 858 billion rubles. Since 2020, it has been a Moscow Exchange issuer and issued bonds, which have become another instrument for raising financing for ongoing projects.
Natalia Reznicenko, CEO of the Investment Division of VIS Group, emphasized the attractiveness of the public-private partnership model and its prospects in the stock market: “Our business model fully meets the interests of retail investors. It guarantees predictable cash flows and profitability throughout the entire life cycle of our projects, with the current horizon extending to 2048. The state guarantees the return of investments, and clear investor protection mechanisms are in place. Therefore, infrastructure in the Russian capital market is becoming a reliable asset, promising and attractive to a wide range of investors.”
VIS Group bonds are becoming increasingly visible in the market; the 13th issue is scheduled for placement next week. The exchange-traded bond program was recently expanded from 30 to 50 billion rubles. According to a survey of participants at the SmartLab conference session, approximately 80% of those attending were bondholders of the holding company.
“We view such events as an opportunity to engage directly with investors, the holders of our securities. We believe it's important not only to comment on current financial performance and explain the specifics of the PPP model, but also to share our plans. For retail investors, our securities offer both an opportunity to earn income and to directly participate in the creation of new infrastructure used daily by millions of Russians,” said Sergey Kozlovsky, Head of Corporate Communications at VIS Group.
