Museum and Historical Complex, Chita

Thanks to the creation of a modern Museum-Historical Complex in the capital of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Chita will acquire a new culturally dominant element. The project will integrate exhibition, congress and leisure and entertainment spaces under one roof.

Besides, the center will allow exhibiting a significantly larger number of unique objects of art and culture than are currently on display in the city’s museums.

The complex with an area of more than 10,000 m² will be created on the Chitinka River embankment by the Megapolis Sport complex. The four-story building with a basement will integrate exhibition, congress, and leisure and entertainment spaces.

A new type of multifunctional, technically equipped museum center will be created in Chita, which will also become a federal-level exhibition venue.

This will allow more exhibits to be presented: at the moment, residents and guests of the region see only 18% of the funds stored in the Trans-Baikal Territory, but in the future 50% of the funds will become accessible.

Social and economic effects:

• Promotion of the region’s socio-cultural development;
• Increased tourist flow to the regional capital;
• Manifold increase in the number of historical and art exhibits, as well as the possibility of holding federal-level exhibitions;
• Creation of an adjacent park and recreational zone with an area of over 10,000 m².
