The holding company expects to become a concessionaire for new projects. Sergey Yudin, CEO of VIS Group, announced this to the media while in Khabarovsk.
“We have already become the general contractor for the construction of a 2,100-student school in the Orekhovaya Sopka microdistrict.” The company that acted as the concessionaire for this project is currently being bought out, thus, after completing all the legally required procedures, we expect to become a full-fledged participant in the concession, entirely responsible for the project's life cycle. VIS Group specialists have begun updating the giant school's design to meet modern requirements for educational institutions. The architectural concept is scheduled to be reviewed by the regional urban planning council at the end of February, and equipment will begin operating on site this month,” said Sergey Yudin.
Furthermore, VIS Group’s CEO announced a private concession initiative submitted to the government of the Khabarovsk Region to implement the Khabarovsk Bypass highway extension project.
“The new concession project involves the design, attraction of extra-budgetary financing, construction, and operation of the highway. VIS Group’s initiative has already been reviewed by the government of the Khabarovsk Region, its feasibility has been recognized, and negotiations on the specific financial and economic parameters of the concession agreement will take place soon,” SergeyYudin explained.
The extension of the Khabarovsk Bypass highway is strategically important for connecting with the border crossing point currently under construction on Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island. The 5-kilometer section was conceived as part of the highway already built by VIS Group. It will widen the bottleneck at the highway exit, attract additional traffic, and create a cross-border transport corridor.
